Premium Check-in
Enjoy quicker bag drop and a smoother start to your journey by using Premium Check-in where available when travelling with Air New Zealand and some of our partner airlines.
If you're flying domestically in New Zealand with carry-on luggage only, you can check in directly at our Koru Lounges in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown airports.

Fast Bag
Enjoy seamless travel by collecting your check-in bag from right beside the aircraft when you fly on regional domestic flights.

Status and rewards
Recognition Upgrades
Koru Gold includes two Recognition Upgrades. This gives you the opportunity to request an upgrade to the next cabin class so you can enjoy a more premium flying experience, at no extra cost.
Recognition Upgrade requests cannot be combined with OneUp offers.
Status Retain
If you're just short of retaining Koru Gold, we'll gift you up to 30 Status Points so you can keep your status and enjoy your Koru Gold benefits for another year.
Only available to use once every three years.
Status Rewards
Celebrate your progress with Status Rewards. As you reach key Status Points milestones, you'll unlock Status Rewards. This reward recognises your loyalty, even as you stay within Koru Gold. A little thank you from us for going further.
Onboard our aircraft
Frequent Flyer Seating
Koru Gold includes access to Frequent Flyer Seating, usually located towards the front of the Economy cabin.
You'll also get complimentary access to Exit Row and preferred seats within 48 hours of departure, subject to availability.
Additional Carry-on Bag
Take the stress out of packing your carry-on with an Additional Carry-on Bag.
Your carry-on can be a combined total weight of 14kg, with a maximum weight of 10kg for one bag.
Additional Checked Bag
Indulge in some extra shopping knowing you can check in an extra bag at no additional cost.
Airfare must already include a checked bag. Maximum weight 23kg.

OneUp™ upgrade
OneUp is a little like an auction where you bid what you're willing to pay for an upgrade to the next cabin class, or Economy Skycouch. With Koru Gold, your offer is given an extra 30% weighting, improving your chances.
You can pay with either Airpoints™ or cash, and you pay the amount offered per passenger. You will only get charged if your bid is successful.
Status Points Bonus
As a way of recognising your loyalty and not just how far you fly, but how often, you'll earn 15 bonus Status Points every time you complete 10 qualifying journeys.¹
Star Alliance Gold Status
Enjoy Star Alliance Gold Status, the highest level of recognition for Star Alliance. This includes access to lounges, extra baggage, gold track for faster security along with a range of other benefits.
